Summer is coming quickly and I am so excited about this! I really enjoy tanning, but I am aware of the damages it can cause the skin. It is very important to use sunscreen, your skin will thank you later if you take care of it properly. I use SPF also during the winter, spring, autumn, but I try to get the SPF from my creams and foundation, because all the skin that is exposed is my face, neck and a bit of cleavage.
So, getting back to tanning, I strongly advise against going to a bed-tanning or something like that. If you don’t like sun- bathing, you can just get a spray tan or use artificial tanning (I will get back with a review about products that work best for me). I have been using the Eltamd UV Clear SPF 46 for years now. Just how I said, I really don’t go outside without SPF protection during the summer, especially when I want to get a tan. I believe that this product is worth having because it’s just great. My skin looks good, I don’t have many wrinkles, a few around my eyes. In rest, my skin looks great, and mostly because I took care of it from an early age and also, I am afraid of skin cancer.
Let’s begin with the most important thing, it does protect your skin from damage from the UV. This product is very good for oily skin or acne prone skin. A lot of other sunscreens clog your pores and it feels very heavy on the face. Eltamd UV Clear is very light, there are times when I use it under my foundation and my skin doesn’t feel itchy or heavy. It’s fragrance free, I usually like a little bit of fragrance, but I don’t mind it this way. When you pump, it comes out a pea-sized amount and it’s very easy to apply on the skin.
Other things that I think are worth mentioning, you should apply this 15-20 minutes before you expose yourself to the sun, and if you go in the water, you must keep in mind that the protection might be washed off so you must consider applying again. It’s oil free, and I really like that when I read the ingredients I didn’t find any chemicals.
During the years, I’ve used different sunscreens, and my face was white-ish after I applied the sunscreen. I was pleasantly surprised that my face was clear after I applied this product. With other sunscreens, I got blemishes, besides feeling heavy on my skin, clogging my pores and made my face oily. You know, from my previous reviews that I have sensitive skin. But this product just worked great for me. I think that it is important to mention that is PETA friendly, it’s not tested on animals.
